Sattellite Dish Ran Away With The Spoon

I don’t know how I have not been able to update in over a week. It just sort of happened. I will attempt to be somewhat detailed.

The day after I got back from LA, Rachel and I hung out a bit. We went to the Mexican place by Joe Caputo’s called Chica’s Taquira or something. The value was not so hot, but I still liked it. We watched “Desperate” and “Earl.” I was happy to interact with her one last time. The rest of the day I just tied up some loose ends (got my Target paycheck, bought a new rolling duffle, packed, etc.) My parents and I went for Thai food. Then, I took the 10:15 bus back to Normal. When I got in at past one, I so badly wanted to wake up Lauren due to being so excited about her rooming with Jess and I this semester. But I was good and resisted temptation.

I had such a long list of songs to download when I came back. Gems I now have include “The Hanukkah Song” by Adam Sandler, “Nothing From Nothing” by Billy Preston, “This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race” by Fall Out Boy, “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall, “Flaming Pie” by Paul McCartney, and “I Need More Love” by Robert Randolph & The Family Band.

There was a bit of drama surrounding my class schedule. Awaiting the word about getting the TA position for a P.E. class, I registered for English 145, a class that turned out to involve a lot of book report writing. That did not sound too fun to me. Then, Jim called me during one of my classes to tell me that I was the only one out of five not picked to be one of his TA’s (two per class, four total). He claimed he drew straws and I was the unlucky one. I begged and persuaded him to let me do it. He said that would probably be fine. The only reason I would not be able to do it would be if the department stopped him from having three TA’s, as opposed to two, in the class. My neighbor, Kristy, and I would be his TA’s along with one other person.

Kristy and I went to fill out the paperwork. Unfortunately, due to her GPA not quite being above a 3.0, she could not do it. That frustrated me because I really wanted to do it with her. She was pretty pissed. The only positive for me was that it now sealed the deal for me. Since the TA position is only two credits, I had to pick up a third. Bowling opened up and I snatched it. I only have to take that for seven more weeks. I really hope I can improve my score! My goal is 150 or higher. In the end, I was able to drop English 145 for Bowling and being a TA. Not a bad deal! It took a while, but it all worked out for me.

For the record, I am taking Psychology of Adolescents, Human Sexuality, Teaching Math to Children, Teaching Literature to Children, Bowling, and KNR 222 as a TA. It looks to be a promising and rewarding semester.

Last night, I asked out Sam. She said no. We had a long talk and everything is fine now. I am just glad there will not be any awkwardness from the event. It’s all good.

Today, I went for some Indian food with Moy and Rachel. I am so glad she comes here with relative frequency. I could not ask for more from a friend.

I am waiting for Lauren and Kyle to get back from their little dinner date so we can go to Wal-mart to get some much needed groceries. Then I hope to party with Xtina and Eric. We may just stay at my place. That would be totally cool with me.

See ya. Wouldn’t wanna be ya!

It rhymes.
