Update, I mean. But nothing terribly exciting has happened since New Year's. Yes, I got stupid drunk. I apologize to anyone who was subjected to my stupidity on New Year's Eve. I didn't eat much that night so the little that I actually drank went straight to my head. So there's the disclaimer of sorts. But it was a fun party. In the somewhat near future Kristen, Justine and I will be going to the Guiness concert featuring Flogging Molly. I should probably obtain a CD of theirs so I know what I'm listening to. lol
Other than that, just frustration at work. I really want to help my spanish-only kids, but I'm not trained to support them the way the ELL teachers are. But they don't pull them out as often as they should, so these kids sit in front of a laptop playing phonics games that they don't know how to play, because the directions are in english! I found a website for ELL learners that has word search games and such, and I thought that is at least a start on basics (days of the week, months of the year, colors, numbers, etc). But I'm not being paid to be a resource teacher, so I'm pretty annoyed. I want to help these kids but I don't have the know-how in my position.
Mark is half-way thinking about running a 5K this year as his New Year Resolution. My resolution is just to lose some damn weight. All the other teachers are losing weight, I'm just losing motivation. I suppose if I "really" want it, I'd go for it. But most of the time I'm too damn frustrated.
I guess that's all I have for now. I am thinking about throwing a party at my apartment for my birthday. Maybe Feb. 3 or 4th, that's a friday or saturday. Let me know if you're free those days, or if a different weekend would be better.
