Although I don't have much to say, here it is. Same old same old at work, pretty much. I've been asked to teach an afterschool program for 8 kids 3 days a week starting next week, but I don't know if it's going to pan out because of the way it's being set up. First of all, we haven't figured out which kids will be in each part of the program, because the principal accidentally sent home a note saying that a bus would be provided for the reading program students. Apparently there is no bus. A number of these kids have working parents so they take the school bus home every day anyway, so for them to have to get a ride from a parent that wouldn't normally be home at that time is expecting a lot. The other problem is that the materials I'm supposed to teach haven't arrived at the school, and I haven't a clue how to use them. We were hoping for a training on the material but if we don't get them until next week, we won't be able to talk to sales person into stopping by to show us how.
Other than that, I'm pretty pissed at my Weight Watchers meeting leader. She's been really unsupportive of the whole group and that's frustrating. When you weigh in, she doesn't tell you how you did. If you gained weight (such as I did, apparently), she gives you a little dirty look and hands you back your weigh-in book with no comment. The past two weeks I've been working out almost every other day, so most of the weight I gained is probably in muscle. If she had asked if I knew what had happened with this past week, I would've told her. Apparently I'm not the only one who doesn't like her much. I told a few of the teachers who do the program (it's at the school) that when they renew the session, I'm going to join Weight Watchers online instead. It's cheaper, since the at work program costs $147 (and that's pretty steep on a TA's salary) and the online program is cheaper and I don't have to deal with a leader I don't like. If they can get the leader changed, I might stick around. But I don't make enough money to feel upset about how the leader, who takes my money, treats me. How is that motivating?
Nothing else to report. My 25th birthday is next week, and I'm planning a wine tasting evening at our apartment. I haven't heard from anyone if they're going, so I'd like to know ASAP.
