So I realized today that I've been remiss in my postings as of late, so I thought I'd update. Nothing terribly new to report. Still working like a dog at the school as a TA, and loving every minute of it. I think it's great that both of my teachers are so willing to hand off small groups to teach or help with. It really makes me feel that they are confident I have good instincts. Both have mentioned on occasion how great it would be for me to pick up the fourth grade position when it opens up next year, since they're already familiar with my teaching style and know that we work well together as a team. I hate to get my hopes up, but what was all this for if I don't get that spot? But then again, stranger things have happened.

This week is parent teacher conferences. Rather, monday and tuesday are parent teacher conferences. Yes, I do have to be in attendance the whole time. 11-8pm tomorrow, 8-12 noon tuesday. Kinda shitty but if my teachers have to be there, it's only fair that I help out where I might be needed. The only wierd thing about my having to be there is that I don't sit in on conferences unless specifically requested (for example, I have a girl in the fourth grade that has major anger management issues, and since she's in my spelling group I'll be sitting in to testify to her inability to show respect to teachers when she gets herself riled up), so I'll be doing a lot of busy work. Putting photos in their cumulative folders, copying stuff, etc etc etc. But that's what I'm there for, to assist.

With my parents down in Kentucky, we'll be driving down again for Thanksgiving on a whirl-wind tour as we did last year. We'll drive down probably early friday morning, spend saturday there, and then sunday afternoon or so drive back. It really truly sucks, and last year we really didnt' get much time with them, but since we usually have Thanksgiving day lunch/dinner with Mark's family, we can't leave until that evening or the next morning. I really don't like having my family in another state when the holidays roll around.

And speaking of holidays, it's time for everyone to tell me what they want for Christmas!! :-)
