So, yesterday was April Fool's Day - which is most certainly NOT my favorite holiday. Thankfully, it was a fantastic day that involved everything from working in the garden to grilling steaks and drinking gin and tonics to going on a hike. And no pranks whatsoever!
Now here is the weird part: When I was a little kid (we're talking like six to nine years old, etc.), I used to play the same April Fool's Day prank on my father every year. This prank involved waking him up and pretending to be scared that there was a huge spider in the bathtub. Every year he patiently played along. However, yesterday, out of the blue, I ended-up dealing with
a real spider, an enormous and scary spider that fell of my neck and scurried along the couch whilst I screamed at it. I have not failed to miss the irony. Why did this happen? I blame the ghost of my father! Whatever dimension he's in, I'm sure he's looking down and laughing.
In other news, I actually got some color yesterday from the sun. It's not a burn, really, but it is color. Yesterday's high was in the mid-70's Fahrenheit (22 to 24 degrees Celsius), but tonight we're meant to have rain and snow showers. (Or, as the website puts it, R/S showers. How I wish!) New Mexico is weird.
