Crossing the Rubicon

I'm not doing anything of the sort, I just think the phrase is neat.

Tonight the TKEs held Tekestock at the Dukum Upp to raise money for the United Way. It was really fun and some of the bands were actually good. They did suffer from what most amateur bands tend to suffer from though. They could never get the sound levels quite right, so you could never understand the lyrics. The last band had a fiddle player in it and you couldn't hear her playing unless she had a solo or you were right next to the stage. That went until 1am, but I left with Charles around 12:30 to go clean up the TKE house for the after party...that didn't happen. It was too late and cold for anyone to do that, plus when Kenny announced it at the end of the night barely anyone was still there, so yeah.

We went to Pancake City after a few guys finished drinking their few beers. I had grub fries and blueberry pancakes, and almost instantly regretted it wishing I had gotten a garbage burger w/o onions instead. While we were there some girl almost threw up on Sean on the way to the bathroom and when we were about to leave a fight broke out in the other half of the restaurant. The cops showed up in like 5 minutes or less too, which I found odd as all hell. In my hometown, which is smaller and more boring than K-ville, it took the cops 15 minutes to respond to a "shots fired" call in my neighborhood. Have I told that story before? Probably...if I haven't, just know that there wasn't any gunfire, but I still got arrested back in 2000.

I kind of feel like shit for missing anime club for like the last two months...I'll try my hardest to be there next week...but who the fuck knows...I might have some damn mixer I have to go to. Another I regret is not being in love for as long as I have, but I don't know how to fix that. It's not really a choice now is it? I suppose if I thought about it for a while I could think of someone I love, but chances are they're already dating someone....that's what happened last time I thought about that anyway. *le sigh*

My computer is still broken...I'm annoyed. I've tried replacing the video card and the ram so far. Tuesday I should be receiving my new heatsink and thermal grease for the processor, so hopefully that'll cool it down and that's what the issue was. If that's not it, then I guess it's the motherboard...in which case: damn. It's not that motherboards are expensive, it's just a major pain in the ass to replace. And I think WinXP might think I have a different computer and cease to work or some bullcrap like that if I replace something that crucial...oh, I guess it could be the power supply. I could try replacing it next of this processor cooling theory falls through.

People should read Syndication. I just started writing again and I like where it's going. It's not that long yet, so it shouldn't take that long to catchup right now. SInce my semester has been so damn hectic though, I probably won't have many chances to update, so I won't be going crazy with it anytime soon...except maybe now~ish...maybe after this, maybe tomorrow.

tke, syndication, friends, depression
