You weathered the storm but sheltered the loss

Just went on my second ever five-kilometer fun run this morning, and my first since I got into shape. The only co-worker who bettered me on the five-kilometer route was a burly athletic Frenchman who walks to work every day, so I'm pretty happy with my result, considering I'm not exactly a hardcore runner. I timed myself to about 33 minutes, but I have yet to know the official result.

My first fun run back in college wasn't fun at all, but after surviving today's run, I'm actually looking forward to joining another run-I told my brother I'd join him for his phys ed requirement to join a fun run at Ateneo. Running's rather trendy in Manila right now; there are races practically every weekend. Oh no. Does this mean I'll be one of those "runners" too?

Kirk Long is now my favorite Blue Eagle. Before heading to yesterday's game, I thought of how much I missed Jai Reyes and how he'd taunt by mimicking the opposing point guard's signals. Kirk, the son of American missionaries, doesn't exactly do that, but this year, he's started to show a bit of swagger by stretching out his long arms while he's on defense.

His signature celebratory move is the signal for a touchdown in American football.

He likely won't be able to play in the PBA because he's an undersized import, but it's okay, the PBA sucks anyway. The chances of him capturing the interest of an NBA team are very slim, to say the least, but, hey, I can dream.

We have to sing "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the car on the way to a game so that we can win. Really.

- I've downloaded the Celtics-Heat playoff games off iTunes so I can cry along. Because I know Paul won't be able to log those same stats anymore, with some dude called LeBron James on his case in the upcoming season. =(

- My eternal thanks to duckyyy for helping my brother and I for our shirts. <3 I'd already ordered the smallest women's size for the Pierce jersey shirt, which I haven't pictured yet, but it still looks too big on me. The shooting shirts in the picture were only available in men's sizes. My brother mentioned that he'd caught many people glancing at the "Rajon" label on the front of his shirt. =) "Paul" is obviously a common name, so I don't expect the same reception with mine.

- I'm pretty sure I literally gasped when I first saw Simon Baker in The Devil Wears Prada. Don't deny it, he is one criminally beautiful man, so much that I can overlook his being Australian. When I caught an episode of The Mentalist on TV a couple of nights ago, I couldn't keep my eyes away again. Like, I wanted to do nasty things to my TV. It's just a shame that I have to watch yet another police procedural show to follow him-I'm already following Nathan Fillion on Castle and Jeff Goldblum on Law and Order: Criminal Intent, and then I'm planning to add Tim Roth and Lie to Me on that list. I hope I can find downloads of The Guardian, or at least catch the episodes on Asian cable TV so I can get my Simon Baker fix now in the legal setting. I swear, I have police procedurals coming out of my ears already. >_<

- This new Manic Street Preachers single is far from one of their best...slightly disappointing when compared with their previous work, but I can't stop listening to it anyway. I like it a lot better than "Your Love Alone Is Not Enough". I really can't ever totally like the song, especially after Nina Persson sang on it. I've even come to like "The Love of Richard Nixon". Just not "Your Love Alone", no.

What made me love the song? Tim Roth on the album cover and the prospect of seeing Michael Sheen in the music video. I confess, I only knew about him when I heard about his upcoming association with the Manics, but based on the GIFs that people on ohnotheydidnt have been posting, I think I love him already. I already downloaded the episodes of 30 Rock that he was in.

I haven't figured out how I'm going to get Postcards from a Young Man just yet. I do hope the US gets a simultaneous release, so I can just buy it off iTunes. Again, I don't want to download leaks or bootlegs.

Need: Liniment for my sore legs
Also need: New bras.
Miss: Tokyo
Love, Lust: Simon Baker
Hate: This noise from people hammering on our house, I think. I can't continue watching The Mentalist. >_
