WOW. That was something of a shocker, eh? Not only is Mollee gone, but Ashleigh was *safe* and Ellenore was B2! The entire great state of Utah must've been voting, I think! My theory: Ashleigh fans voted way more than they usually would, afraid that she was losing votes because she didn't dance, and people just assumed Ellenore would be safe since she's done so well so far. I'm certainly happy with the result! Can Ashleigh heal fast enough (or medicate enough) to make it through next week though? A dislocated shoulder is no trivial matter.
For the boys, I was pretty sure Jacob and Russell would be safe, and I honestly couldn't decide between Ryan and Legacy. Legacy's got the passion; Ryan's got the mad partnering skills. So I'm fine with how things went, and Legacy always seemed to have this sense of "It's amazing that I'm still in this and I'm grateful for each week I'm still here," so I hope he's okay too. Mollee was clearly in complete shock.
If we were in a normal season and next week was another elimination week, I would think that Ryan and Ashleigh were the next to go, although I've now thought that for two weeks running and been wrong both times! But it would have been a nice bit of symmetry, since S4's Top 6 elim was original partners Mark and Chelsie and S5's was original partners Melissa and Ade, and Ashleigh and Ryan are *actual* partners.
On the performances-- loooooved Ellenore and Legacy's first piece (the Mr. and Mrs. Smith one) as well as Ryan and Kathryn's cha-cha. Rogue was vaguely watching along with me, and when I commented on R&K, "Wow, this is so much better than their disco!" he was like "Wait, those are the same people that did the disco? Are you sure?" I thought the Bollywood was disappointing compared to previous ones, but HURRAY for the return of Shane Sparks and some old-school hip-hop! And loved his diss at NappyTabs about how there wouldn't be any "lyrical" in his hip-hop! Also, for your comparison and viewing pleasure, Benji and Donyelle's original "Too Much Booty" hip-hop from Season 2: here. (That's their WEEK ONE dance, y'all. Talk about a power couple.)
Oh hey speaking of previous seasons, during tonight's group dance, did anyone else catch a glimpse of the red paint in Legacy's hair and think, "Kameron!" ...just me, then? All right.
