these are haikus i write on my commutes every day.
(chapter 1. A/C train commute)
1.
ride the iron worms
bodies upon bodies but
all i want is sky
2.
you search under sheets
seeking honey- sweetness- but
rotting fruit persists
3.
you get drunk off your
own voice. but ideas are
not the crux of things.
4.
how to hate your own
city- swim the lengths of it
in morning and night
5.
though you can know it
as well as you know your hands
you do not believe
6.
i was told the point
of horizons was keeping
my secrets from me
7.
my eyes are tired
of searching and of seeing
father send us home
8.
i will not be the
vessel by which you absolve
your rotting resolve
