Lesson of the Day : Those People Are Still Weird

Mar 10, 2008 21:37

That's the third time that curse has come around for me, and I'd heard back then that my first time was not its first time. So, four times the strange people have invaded the city, at least. Has any other curse come back so often? I suppose I was kind of hoping that he might have come back like last time too....The first time I just ignored them as ( Read more... )

finding a way out, yes i know this is stupid, curse aftermath, exits, fourth wall curse

"Pimp-slap" a tree...? What's a pimp-slap?

It is apparently, and I quote "It's when you slap someone and make them remember who owns them"

. . .

. . . . actually, I'm still not quite sure what it is, myself.

Good Lord--not that sort of pimp!

What is it with these girls and a fascination with sexuality?

What are the city watch requirements?

None that I know of officially, but I would imagine not going on violent rampages through the streets is always a plus. It would also depend upon which division one would be interested in joining.

I do security along with some office duties at the tea house.

It sounds like you'd fit in with the patrol officers or administration, depending on whether you'd prefer field work or paper work. Sergeant Sousuke is currently running the policing division, Prince Charming is the remaining warden, so he'd probably be the one to talk to regarding office work. I went into a bit more detail here, but those two could probably fill you in far better.

This was the first time that this curse hit me and it didn't seem so bad.

You're gonna what now?

I think it would depend upon which of the cursed visitors you came across. I didn't get bothered much, but the ones who did show in interest in me were... special.

I'm going to follow the long convoluted directions that one of the visitor's gave me for exiting the city, which I'm 99.999% sure they were just yanking my chain, but on the .001% chance they weren't....

Did they say that they had crushes on you, and knew about your life?

Those are interesting numbers....

No, they said that everyone I knew back home had crushes on me including my own sister and they had the pictures to prove it. Very graphic pictures. That reminds me, I need to delete that entry...

I think there's probably a better chance of the deities declaring me Emporer of the City than it working, but it can't hurt to try... Actually, maybe it can hurt, depending on the definition of 'pimp slap'...

You were saying something about a picnic and that plushie book before, but I got too distracted, so--

Wait, what are you going to do?

Reply

bright_shield March 11 2008, 03:42:06 UTC
Well, remember I found that plushie book a couple months ago and we were discussing what it could mean? Like I'd have to sew up a plushie to save the world or something? ...Or everyone could suddenly turn into plushies. Yeah.

Picnic? ... I'm blanking on-- oh! Yes, apparently the city watch is organizing a picnic for the fifteenth of the month.

. . . . and apparently I'm about to make a fool of myself. Again.

...that was a long time ago, I forgot all about that!

A picnic? That's...really cute, actually! Maybe too cute for the city watch.

Why are you following their advice? They're obviously crazy!

By the way, thanks a lot for leading me on a wild goose chase around the city during that curse!

So did I! But it makes me think I need to start paying a bit more attention to the library again. Nngn, all porn last time...

Well, the wardens celebrated with that grand gala after their election, so it kind of fits in with the mood for the current administration. It might help with recruiting in a more leisurely atmosphere too.

. . . but I've tried everything else. It can't hurt to this too. Hopefully.

Eh? What do you mean?

The City Watch is looking for members?

Might I ask the duties and qualifications for being a member?

Reply

bright_shield March 11 2008, 03:51:21 UTC
It would depend on the division, working in forensics or administrating the network would require previous experience in those fields, there's administration and paperwork for those who don't want to put themselves in danger out in the field, and for the detectives and the patrol officers the ability to protect oneself, evaluate situations, and properly break up fights etc. And of course no running amok and abusing one's powers.

You were a member last time you were here, Ted, so I can't imagine there'd be much trouble for you to reinlist.

Was I now?

It seems then that I should look into this further. Who should I speak to about 're-enlisting'?

Yes, although people tend to forget these things when they leave and return to the city sometimes.

Prince Charming is the current warden who runs the entire prison and police system and Sergeant Sousuke is currently in charge of patrol and peacekeeping, specifically.
