Unlucky days
I accidentally stepped on the cat's tail this morning. She was eating and had a terrible coughing fit, apparently having choked on her food. (She's fine now.)
We discovered upon leaving our cosy bed that the water pump had apparently died during the night.
I could go on.
Björn mentioned that it was probably a "Tycho Brahe day". He made me google it.
Tacho Brahe (as you may know but I only vaguely remembered) was a Danish astronomer who made a list of days that, according to the stars, were unlucky days. These dates were published in one of the first Farmer's Almanacs.
Turns out Björn was right. December 18 is indeed one of the dates Tycho Brahe warned about.

Januari: 1, 2, 4, 6, 11, 12 och 19
Februari: 11, 17, 18
Mars: 1, 4, 14, 15
April: 10, 17, 18
Maj: 7, 15, 18

November: 6, 8
