Look! I'm writing you a little note on the public internet instead of quietly on a scrap of paper left on the refrigerator. That's what you get for loving a blogger.
I'll miss you the next two and a half weeks. Miss you like crazy.
It is a little nutty, isn't it? We've been together for a few years now - you'd think we'd both be glad for a little break from each other. But that is not the case for me and I know it's not the case for you either. Yes, I'll miss you like crazy, but I also think it's really, really nice that I have a guy that I will miss like crazy even for such a short little time away. Very nice indeed.
While I'm gone I know you will continue to take long hot baths every evening. You'll miss me popping in every few minutes asking questions or just being sociable. Leave the door open a little so Hanna can come and meow at you instead.
While I'm gone I know you will continue to watch TV after your bath and have a little supper. Find lots of space on tapes so you can watch the best shows again with me sitting beside you asking questions and being sociable. Maybe Hanna will finally make the leap to being a sofa sitter...or think! a lap cat!
While I'm gone I know you will continue to take Hanna out for her nightly walk. I also know that you will wait politely while she poops in the sand pile, and that you will speak to Mr. and Mrs. Stork and the babies, and that you will breathe deeply as you pass the honeysuckle, and that you will wait a moment by that one spot to see if Mr. Yellow Cat comes out to stalk Hanna. Know that even if I am half a world away I will be with you every evening on those walks, asking questions and being sociable.
