Trouble in Paradise? Hardly

May 28, 2008 17:55

I sometimes stay away from the "Post an Entry" button because I end up writing so many variations on a single theme: my life is wonderful, wonderful, bordering on perfect. Most people have problems and troubles and stuff going on. I really don't. Apart from a sticky situation now and then at work I have a fairy tale existence.

The only thing keeping me from a completely perfect life right this moment is the crows.

The crows that have nested (apparently) in a tree or two or three in the field just outside our front yard.

They wake me up with their screeching at sunup, which today happened to be at 4:30 this morning.

On the weekends the screeching is a constant - CONSTANT - wave of unpleasant noise.

I complained about it to Björn a little while ago. His answer speaks volumes about him.

"It's really just the sound of nature, isn't it? It's not like the Dancing Elephants stomping around overhead or like big trucks backing into the Netto garage under us. They're really just birds."

My perfect man. Tomorrow morning, at 4:30am when the screeching starts, I think I'll just flip the pillow over to the cool side and decide to enjoy the sound of nature. It's not exactly birdsong. But it is just birds.

I could have real problems, after all.

betterment, seriously, Björn, happy life
