gerry hoekstra is the spawn of satan
can you tell that i'm not looking forward to tomorrow's music history test? it's so ridiculous because he got himself behind the syllabus and in his effort to catch up he whizzes through the last week of material and leaves everyone dazed and confused as to what's going on. or, at least that's how i feel. soooo aggravating. and these dang listening examples is what's going to be the worst.
on another note, the evil asian beetle epidemic has struck st. olaf again. it's not quite as bad as i remember last year being, but we haven't been able to open our window for 3-4 days because they come in and infest! they look like really cute lady bugs, but they bite, and they smell and they get all over everything!
went to minnesota orchestra last night and heard their principal cellist, tony ross, play dvorak! WOW. his performance, the way he was connected to the orchestra and the conductor and the audience, it was amazing. he made me think about the music and my life in a different way, spurred thoughts in me that classical music had never done before. it got me to thinking that maybe this is the business that God wants me to be in. i sure hope so anyway...otherwise my american studies major is going to have to pick up some slack. hmmm, maybe i SHOULD do my reading this weekend for 'contemporary native american issues.' NO LAUGHING.
