I spent the day Saturday reading a novel (Come Hell or Highball). It felt a little bit like an American themed ripoff of the Her Royal Spyness mysteries, but I enjoy them, so it was a good way to spend a lazy Saturday. Ugh, the MET just revamped their web site. Clearly the new design is to make it easier to use on a phone. Enormous fonts and huge buttons. Drop-down menus have been replaced by links. All the horizontal layout elements are now stacked vertically (I'm scrolling, I'm scrolling, I'm still scrolling....).

Today I am thankful for museums. Especially museums that have shared their collections online. I’ve spent quite a bit of time over the past couple of years trawling through the collections at the MET and the British Museum, which not only have wonderful collections of Landsknecht era woodcuts, etchings, and drawings, but have excellent search ( Read more... )

Had a very good day at the MET today with malterre and fbhjr. It was a lightning research trip. I was looking for a couple of specific things that I wanted to document. I found the stuff I was looking for and more.

Monday morning I was up a half hour before my alarm. I’ve been waking up super early this summer, because even with the blinds pulled, the damn sun just comes up way before I want to get out of bed. Since I could tell I was already awake, I went ahead and got up and worked out, showered, and had breakfast and Internets.
