Saturday - Spent the day wenching about with allgudallthetim and guy_todd. Almost as soon as I got in the gate, heard from marrus that they’d already cancelled faire on Sunday due to the impending arrival of Frankenstorm. So after dinner, we tore down the encampment and cleared out

They already cancelled work and everything here in DC, too. Woohoo, three day (maybe a four day!) weekend! Boohoo, probably w/ no internet and power - please, lord, let me keep water =P I live on the 22nd floor so hoping for no shaking /shudder. I'm really bummed about the loss of so much fall colors ... winter comes early this year, I guess. I love rain (I grew up in the desert completely deprived of out - been gone years and years and I still can't get over how exotic and clean rain is) but because it's such a huge storm that will likely cause loads of damage I'm a little leery of my feelings of happiness over it - I'm really hoping I don't earn a karma bitch slap for it =/

I went to Target this morning and as part of 'emergency' supplies I got a little led clamp light that works on book binders and a pack of batteries to power it. I have a stack of books to read and maybe I'll write something new for a breather between =]

Thanks for the reminder! I dug out my camping lanterns (including my headlamp) after I read your comment this morning. We lost power twice last week without any bad weather, so I'm pretty sure we'll lose power at some point during this storm.

I went into the office to grab my laptop and only one guy was there. They sent out an e-mail Sunday night that the office was closed today. And then while I was there, checking my e-mail, they sent another e-mail that the MBTA was shutting down at 2:00 today.
