It dawned on me today
Went out to lunch at the Maul today with New Guy and Remaining Trainer. It was nice getting out of the office and getting a chance to chat with the other two (local) people who work for Boss Fella.
It dawned on my today that I may finally have the one thing that could make working at The Mushroom Farm somewhat bearable. A work friend.
I'm sure there are developers with suitably geeky interests (there are always developers who are into movies and comics and science fiction), but I've asked and they won't let me move my cube to sit with them. It's just SO NICE to have someone to talk to. Sitting near Mean Blonde Girl and listening to her bitch about everything under the sun has been slowly shriveling my soul. Having someone pop their head into my cube every day to chat about interesting things this past week has been a refreshing change of pace.
I am content.
