And my reply
I thought about it overnight, and while I do not want to add fuel to Beth's fire, I can't just sit still and not do something to try to defend myself. So I posted to the Hate Board, and included both her name and mine. Let's stop playing around and just speak the truth.
I would like to apologize to the posters and lurkers of this board. I don’t usually read the Hate Board on a regular basis (as it’s not exactly “work friendly”) but a friend of mine tipped me off that I should read the recent activity.
The postings from “a concerned citizen” (The BEWARE! snd Spot the Loser threads) were posted by Beth Jameson in an attempt to slander me anonymously. She misunderstands the purpose of this board (which is to provide a forum for insults and humor between a group of friends), and posted something that is neither funny nor directed at a friend. She should not have used your forum in this manner, and I will apologize on her behalf.
But since she’s decided to post publicly about her feud with me, I feel the need to respond and attempt to set the record straight. These are the facts:
1 - Beth was my best friend for the past several years. When I started dating David last year, she began to act oddly. Although she denies it, I think that it’s fairly clear from what she’s posted that she was jealous of our relationship. This led to the end of our friendship late last fall.
2 - I am not, nor do I want to be, Beth’s enemy. We are just no longer friends.
3 - David and I have broken up. Beth’s attempts to mock this relationship aren’t funny, they’re cruel.
3 - Beth implies that I’m a slut. I’m almost 40 and can count the number of men that I’ve slept with on two hands. Unless someone has lowered the standards for slutdom, I don’t think I even remotely qualify. Sorry guys.
4 - I am indeed overweight. I’m not proud of that fact, but neither am I ashamed of it.
5 - I *do* have a sense of humor. I know that several of the members of this board are afflicted with uncontrollable urges, and may feel the need to reply to this post. Please, feel free to mock this post (or me) if you want to. I’m a big girl (see #4) I can take it.
Again, I apologize for the posting of actual hate on the Hate Board. We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming.
