Face the Nation 1/22/17

Jan 25, 2017 22:27

I watched this week's Face the Nation on the DVR, and for the first time in a long time, it actually made me feel better about politics. And even more shocking, it was the Republicans that made me feel better! SC Senator Lindsey Graham actually sounded like a voice for reason when he was talking about how we have to have a strong State Department, because we need diplomacy or our only foreign policy option is military. He also was talking about standing up to Russia. So it was nice to see that not all of the Republican leadership has gone over to Trump's thinking.

”There are three attributes that matter more than anything else in American life: Respect, civility, and tolerance. And we’re not seeing much of that from anyone right now.

We now believe that we can say and do anything to anyone at any time. We have lost that sense of decency, and frankly, I don’t know how we’re going to get it back.”

Eight, nine, ten year olds being taught to hate the other side. And that’s the problem, when you teach young people to hate, you can’t get it out of their system.
