WTF Wednesday - Boston Rental Prices
So, if I haven’t mentioned it yet, The Place makes software for the real estate market. And it looks like people share real estate articles with the group on Slack (our IM software). I’ve been there three days and I’ve already seen two or three articles.
Today someone shared this one - Boston Rents: Cheapest, Priciest Areas to Lease an Apartment Right Now
TL;DR, The most expensive neighborhood to rent an apartment in the Boston area is Kendall Square, where the average rent for a 1 BR apartment is $3,490 a month, and the Back Bay, were a 2 BR apartment rents for $4,360. Which means that if you’re holding to the rule of thumb and only spending 33% of your income for housing, that you need to be making $125,000 - 157,000 a year to be able to afford to live in Boston.
