Good News Friday
Not much going on in my life this week. But there's still Good News, or at least fun stuff to share.
I’ve been doing some binge reading this week. I’ve read five books in the past five days. I can’t remember the last time I finished a book. Checking my “books” tag on LJ, it may have been when I was so sick back in February. Here I’d been thinking it was back when I re-read Outlander when the show started up back up last fall….
I had a headache yesterday. You wouldn’t think that’s Good News ™ but it got me started thinking as I pulled out the Advil bottle, how seldom I actually get headaches. Even when I was working, my head almost never hurts. I buy the smallest bottle of Advil that I can, and it still usually goes past the expiration date before I use it up. I just don’t get headaches or fevers or PMS like some other people I know do. And I’m so very grateful for my good health, because I know so many people who aren’t as lucky. Good Health = Good News in my book.
I had a good massage with my regular therapist yesterday. She’s still finding knots, but we’ve pretty much got my back under control. We’ve moved on to working out the kinks in my legs. There’s a couple of spots on the backs of my legs that make me twitch (pressure on them feels like my muscles want to Charley Horse). We’ll get there. Eventually!

I was watching the Mummy and surfing The Mummy tag on Tumblr when I stumbled across this absolutely Beautiful Mummy Cosplay. Yes, yes that is a SFW Anck-Su-Namum costume.
In the same tag I found this Love letter to the Mummy. I wanted to save it here, because it does a pretty good job summing up my love for the movie. “For an off-brand Indiana Jones he somewhat lacks those professor smarts, but that is why Evey is in charge.”
“…in what other action-adventure thrill ride is the villain defeated by a librarian reading him back into the grave?”
