So, Live Journal installed some sort of update today and I had to change my theme. I’m going to document it here, so that I can remember what the heck I did. And also, just in case some of you want to make changes to your theme.
Go to your Account settings page (there should be an Account link in the header somewhere).
On
Viewing Options page, there should be a link to “Journal Style.” On my Account page, it was in the line You can edit your account settings below. You may also want to edit your profile or your journal style.
On
Select Journal Style page, you can select a theme in the second section. Click the little magnifying glass to preview your journal in a theme. Don’t forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page to section three if you want to switch the sidebar to the opposite side and section four to edit your friends feed. I’m currently using Black and White 01 as my theme, which I found in the Clean/Simple category.
Once you’ve picked a theme, scroll back up to the top of the page. On the right side there is a box that lists your theme. There are two links there that lead to additional options:
• Customize your theme
• Change page setup
Click Customize your theme. Along the left side of the page are additional tabs that lead to other options:
• Display
• Page
• Header
• Menu
• Social Networks
• Sidebar
• Entry
• Text
• Links List
• Custom CSS
Tip - Open Live Journal in two separate windows. Use one window to view your journal and the other to change settings. When you change a setting you can refresh the journal view to see how your journal looks with the new setting.
So far the only thing I haven’t figure out was how to get the icon picker when I leave comments. Right now I’m getting the menu (text) not the icon picker (graphics) like I used to get.
