I just read that on Facebook. I am really bummed, and sad for the people who work there :(. And I hate going to the WAM because their security staff suck juicy dirty cock (yes I said that aloud) and they make viewing art an uncomfortable experience. :(
I've never been to the WAM. I'm sad to hear that their security staff are pricks. I've had my run-ins with bad museum guards at the MFA and at the Isabella Stewart Gardner museums. =(
I was sad to read that too. We're too far away to be able to make a trip with Paul. Gremlin was ticked that they are closing, especially since she did not get to see the updates they made to the children's areas.
I remember seven/eight years ago talking to folks on the board and once I heard they'd dipped into the endowment, that was the death knell. Also, Kent was a good money-making director and when he went to the Russian Icons, I suspect his favorite donors did as well. :(
