You know something’s wrong when the writers leave us hanging with Reese wearing one of Agent Stanton’s special bomb vests, and I voluntarily wait almost two weeks to watch the episode on my DVR. Yeah, I think POI fandom pretty much tarnished my enjoyment of Person of Interest last year. I still watch the show. And I still enjoy it. But I can totally take it or leave it now.

[Spoilers Ahoy]Am I being picky that I really bothers me that Carter has a head wound and seems disoriented and when Finch asks if she’s hurt she says that she’s fine? Girlfriend, get yourself to a hospital. Leave the acting like a martyr to the guys with a death wish.

Cara Stanton, what is it that you want?

Did nobody notice Stanton and Snow dragging an unconscious Reese onto a city bus? And does nobody notice John sitting there, with his shirt open, and a bomb strapped to his chest?!?! Pretty damn ballsy of her, doing all this on a city bus. I know New Yorkers are known for not getting involved, but after 9/11, I’m just having a little bit of trouble believing that they’d ignore a bomb on a bus.

Watching Carter slowly get dressed. I’m mad at her all over again for claiming to be fine. Carter is just acting weird this whole episode.

“What do you think?”
“I think Donnelly was a good agent.” I do appreciate how she’s reluctant to throw Donnelly under the bus.
And there’s Fusco with her missing earring. I love it when he detects like a detective!

“Your boss, she must have very deep pockets.” What has Stanton been doing while she’s been dead? And who is funding her operation?!?

“Information is my business.” Who is this vaguely English sounding creepy older gentleman? Some sort of freelance information broker?

“You can’t control anything around you. So you fight back in whatever little ways that you can. Like refusing to eat.” Are we supposed to believe that Stanton is being controlled by someone else? That she’s not operating as a free agent?

Reese to Snow “They’re just doing their job. And I don’t know them. Only person I’m pretty sure deserves to die is you.”

What a great line! “My dear, if you think I work for the government, then I really must fire my tailor.”

The old gods were so afraid of their children that they ate them…

Not your old boss, Mark Snow….But the person truly responsible. The person who sold the laptop in the first place….

Cyber Warfare. Customized malware. “Nothing here, can be allowed to get out there.” Even kill the entire Internet. “Which means that it could be used to shut down The Machine.”

“You’re going to get us killed John.” Oh, Snow really doesn’t know John anymore if he thinks he gives a damn about his own life.

And how the HELL did Kara get into the facility?

What is this room?
Where we monitor the government’s most secure networks against cyber attacks. From here she could reach….
Everything.

Stanton “I meant what I said before. About missing you. But it’s true what they say, you can’t go home again.”

Taraji just really does a bad job acting this episode. I don’t know what it was, but I just really hated every scene she was in.

And we see that Reese still has his death wish/need to do penance. First he refuses Carter’s help. Then he tries to refuse Finch’s help with defusing the bomb vest. I do love that Finch doesn’t actually defuse the bomb, but hacks the phone instead. “I have built some of the most complex computer systems in existence. I can certainly unlock a phone.” Dear Jim Caviezel, if we’re supposed to believe that your character really has a death wish, maybe you shouldn’t look so nervous as he’s waiting to get out of the bomb vest.

And BTW, that was surely the longest couple minutes in bomb wearing history. (I checked the DVR, Stanton set the bomb vests for five minutes, but it actually took Agent Snow a full seven and a half minutes to go kablooey.)

“I’m pretty sure I’d be dead already if you hadn’t found me.”

This one, Mark Snow, actually fits your description of the Man in the Suit. And the case against him is officially closed.

Hard drive tell you anything?
Nothing yet. Whatever she uploaded, the encryption is remarkable. I can only assume that the malware it’s protecting is equally sophisticated. The only thing I’ve been able to decompile is when it’s set to go live. A little bit more than five months from now.
What happens then?
I guess we’ll find out.

All I have for you is a name. For someone who seemingly does not exist on any known database. Perhaps you’ll have better luck in your search than I did.

So, the father of the Titans is Harold Finch, the boulder that he chokes on is whatever software Stanton downloaded into the system?
