Bad news...

Yeah so my mom has taken a turn for the worse. You might remember she had a benign tumor under her spine. Well in the doctors attempts to shrink that tumor using steroid injections, the tumor fragmented and spread higher up on her spine. (now there is one at the C-4 vertabrea -the original, and the new at C-1. The doctors gave her 6-8 weeks until she would be fully paralyzed.

Now for the good news (well, semi-good). They offered up a "radical" form of treatment as an option. They are going to start Radiation Therapy this week, along with Kemo (sp?) and the steroid injections. Both of the tumors are benign, but the doctors said that they are very hopefull that this will be 100% effective for both tumors. Meaning, my mom basically be really sick for the next few months, but if it works...she should return to just about normal. Which would be awesome, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I'm going to try and push back that school for at least a month, in case something goes wrong and I have to take emergency leave. Also I'm pretty happy that the two hospitals that have been treating her are #1 and #2 in the country for tumors involving the spine. (John's Hopkins, and Tampa Medical center in FL). So, that's where I'm at right now, A lot going on with work, and now a lot going on at home:-/

I'll update any news I get as I get it.

Song quote of the moment, from song/band listed
