I looked it up in the dictionary... it wasn't in there

Christmas is upon us. Parents are still as annoying as ever to get anything for. And i've kinda gone overboard on stuff bought for my brother. This time of year though is quite an interesting time to run experiments with online companies and see how their deliveries go. Back at the end of november i ordered a dvd for my brother as well as some specific stuff from another online retailer. The dvd was from thehut.com, who promised dispatch in 4-6 days. It was dispatched over a week after i ordered it when i'm sure it could have been sent out on time. The item wasn't in stock with them until 4 days past my order date, when they could have dispatched it and i would have been happy. They didn't, and then sent an email saying something along the lines of "sorry this item hasn't been dispatched, we are looking into why." I then sent an email saying "well this has been in stock with you for a few days now, how come you couldn't have sent it out already" which led to me getting an email back saying that the product had been dispatched two days after i received this email. Not "will be", but "had been" which is quite a neat trick, although i'd much rather if it had been dispatched when it was promised.

I've also ordered from ebuyer, memory megastore, hmv, play and amazon. Ebuyer i didn't receive an email saying something had been dispatched but their customer service was nice enough to clear it up, and it was delivered when promised. The last four mentioned i ordered from last sunday, and this morning i received the memory megastore package. I'm slightly worried now because i'm not sure if it is the royal mail having problems or the warehouses, but i should have received more bits by now, especially as i received a dispatch email on wednesday relating to a hmv item.

I've kinda gone overboard with everything this year. Back in november i bought 4 tickets to see some comedian bloke perform in february for the family. The next day as i looked around for info on the show i realised it most likely wont be to everyone's tastes. So since then i've kinda been panicking, and even though i've spent over £100 (most of which was then given back to me by my parents wanting in on part of it) on my brother, i'm still worried it'll look as bad as when i got him something for his car. I hate how my head works, i mean it's probably the most meaningless holiday of the year and yet here i am spending money i can't even currently make back. Hopefully that'll change in january, i'm just waiting for a letter to confirm it. Come on postie.

Merry Christmas anyways :)
