Sorry about not updating, it's been kind've hectic, though there's not really much to say.
Work is still the same, as a good friend of mine told me, "Latin for drag." I really hate working there and constantly think about NOT working there. Maybe if the pay ratio turned out to be better than $2-$4 an hour, which is where I am out of the possible $8.15 per hour, damn production criteria, I'm damn fast at most of the stuff they have me doing but I still can't even get to 50% of what the bloody timestudies are. I think it's the professional timestudies that are a major definition to how much we get paid and I haven't even seen staff members keep up that kind of pace.
Anyway, this girl I've been getting to know said I'm handsome on Thursday. Now it's not what you're thinking, but I deliberately let you think that.
We're just friends. She was talking about boys and her boyfriend and how there were a lot of handsome guys out there. I made a crack(even laughed at it) about not having that "affliction" and she said that to me. First person irl to do that I think that wasn't a relative. Not first person ever(online). Anyway, it was a surprise so I thought I'd share that amusing little story with you.

Famed Disney Effects Artist Ellenshaw Dead at 93
Legendary visual effects artist Peter Ellenshaw, who painted the numerous panoramic scenes in such Disney films as Treasure Island, 20, 000 Leagues Under the Sea, Darby O'Gill and the Little People and Mary Poppins, for which he won an Oscar, died Monday in Santa Barbara at age 93. In a statement, Roy Disney, former chairman of Disney feature animation, said: "He was a brilliant and innovative visual effects pioneer who was able to consistently please my Uncle Walt and push the boundaries of the medium to fantastic new heights."
This dude's work was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Remember the shipyard docks in Treasure Island, ships everywhere, sails waving in the wind? Well other than the Hispaniola they were ALL PAINTED SHIPS! As in painted in and animated. But they looked SO REAL! That was his skill. It's tragic to lose a talent like that, but at least he lived a long life.
one more bit of business. A good friend of mine recently self-published her very first novel. I was in the test audience and the parts she shared with us were GREAT. So I offerred to do some adverting for her to help. Hopefully it'll lead to some sales. So if anyone reading this could pass this info along I'd be very grateful.
My copy arrived the other day, and yes I paid full price for it. So sorry I can't get anyone any discounts. ;P
It's a good-sized novel, measuring 6x9 inches with about 475 pages I believe. The book is from the dogs' perspective, kind of like the Disney movie Lady and the Tramp. But with grit. ;) I think most people would enjoy this book.
The link to the
self-publishing place is here.. You can also find a snippet from chapter 1 on that page. It's about the size of snippets we in the test audience had. Sometimes they were signifcantly larger. Trust me, it was a good read. ;)
If interested in buying you can also buy it from
Amazon,
Borders, Or from
Barnes & Noble.com,
The official site is still under construction, but you can see it here..
http://www.doghousechronicles.com/ And yes that is a shot of the actual cover. Drawn by the author herself.(Not bad for a cat;P) You may also find R.G.'s e-mail on this page and direct any questions to her directly. There are several pics in the novel as well. But this isn't a kiddy story. She just likes to draw. ;)
That's all for now really. Please spread the word about my friend's book even if you aren't going to be buying a copy. Thanks a lot.
