I Try to Be Open to All Music, But...

it's kind of hard when you read something like this.

I'm not gonna pretend that I've never listened to Fall Out Boy or Panic! At the Disco. I'm also not going to pretend that Absolute Punk isn't my homepage and that I don't read it more than a normal person should (they posted about this article). In fact, Fall Out Boy used to be one of my favorite bands a couple years ago. But really, after reading what they had to say in that article, it's just ridiculous. Both of the members from those respective bands suggest that they may be the next Nirvana.

They don't understand the parallel, Nirvana was to Metallica and synth pop, as whatever the next big rock and roll band would be to bands like them. I'm just kind of surprised at people in band's cockyness. Like seriously, to have MTV be like "hey dude, what do you think about there being another Nirvana?" and responding they way did is just fucking ridiculous.

I felt like writing something about this cause it's just insane. Really insane. The only bands I think came remotely close to having a chance were Green Day, which were successful, but didn't change music how Nirvana did, and At the Drive-In. I know, I know, I like At the Drive-In way too much. But yeah, ridiculous. If you just took the time to read my silly rant, thanks.
