Brett returns to the airwaves with more senseless pop culture ramblings.
I watched the movie Open Water again this weekend and it creeped me out and unnerved me a lot more than when I watched it last year. It's the movie about this couple that gets left behind after a SCUBA diving trip and spends the next 24 hours floating in the ocean. It's a nice Blair Witch/Jaws combo, because it's more about the fear of being abandoned and isolated in the ocean than the shark attack. Good stuff.
While making dinner tonight I found myself humming then singing the jingle from that SubWay commercial. You know, 'da da, honey ham and swiss, yada yada.' Catchy tune. Either a sign that I watch too much TV or that I'm not engaging my brain enough. Since I can't blame television I'll just start doing the Sudoku each day. Score!
I must also make a plug for Deal or No Deal. I've seen one full episode, and let me tell you this is some stressfully addicting stuff. It's a game show with absolutely no talent involved -- no general knowledge requirement, no spelling skills, no strong stomach; all luck and percentages. But, Holy God, does it give you a strong feeling of wanting to scream at the tele . . . but since only crazies do that I restrain myself.
