in looking up mc hammer lyrics this morning, i came across a review for his third (but second successful) album, too legit to quit. speaking of legit, the reviewer wrote, "although it fell short of please hammer's artistic and commercial success" the album spawned hits, yada yada yada. now, i may be a music snob, but doesn't it say something when your marker of artistic success is "u can't touch this," "have you seen her?," and "pray?"
also, when the review was written, please hammer, don't hurt 'em was the best-selling rap album of all time, with the beastie boys' licensed to ill at #2. i'm not sure if that's changed, or why please hammer is considered a rap album, but there you go. daily trivia for you.
and now for the media portion of today's lesson. i suggest you watch this video. especially some of my karaoke-loving friends.
we got to pray just to make it today . . .
