Worshipping God
The bit about Christianity that I have never quite got is praising God. I mean why? What difference do you think it will make? What do you expect will happen?
Do you think God will change his mind because you asked him to?
It seems to be the height of arrogance to think that your wishes might make a difference to an entity that you believe created the entire universe, anymore than the views of an individual ant makes a difference to whether you spray insecticide on the nest. The views of carbon based self replicators on a largish bit of grit orbiting one of millions of stars in a fairly ordinary barred spiral galaxy are fairly insignificant. The vast scale of the universe is why, even if I believed in an omnipotent god, I would have to be a deist not a theist.
