What am I doing with my life?

Since I have to wait until next september to enroll in school out here (resident status), I figure now is a good time to re-evaluate things.

I'm looking into other areas of study that I can use the units I already have. I only need about 16 more units to complete my AA in in Culinary arts, but that has no real purpose out here. Plus, its not really the best paying career, unless your a super star, and then you have to give up the idea of having anything else but a successful career, at least for 5 to 10 years. Maybe if I would have started right out of High school that would be possible, but at almost 28, I'm just not willing to sacrifice more time. I'm also not willing to spend another 2 years in school. I already have enough student loans.

So,  I'm looking into other careers. Things that I can make a decent amount of money doing, and still enjoy, while being an asset to my community.  I have thought about teaching, but I can't decide if I would be any good at it. Since a few of you are teachers, I hope you'll comment on this and tell me what you think. I think 6th, 7th, and 8th grades would be right up my alley, though I could be a home ec. teacher for the local high schools here.

Nursing is my sisters thing, not mine.  Its unfortunate really because nurses are in high demand in this area, and the pay is pretty nice. I did think about being a CNA for about 2 seconds, but I would hate it, and it doesn't pay nearly as well as a LVN or RN.

Tyler wants to study Mortuary science. He asked me if I would be interested in anything like Forensics, or any other criminal science. While it sounds kind of neat, I just don't know if I could deal with death on a daily basis. The closest I've come to anything like that was delivering caskets and watching CSI.

So my dear friends, what do you think?
