The iPod's definitely dead. [shakes head] For the price of a new circuitboard (and that's what it'll take to fix it) I found one with a bad headphone port. I will use the headphone port out of this one (it works) and voila! Working iPod! (Must find Solder Sucker)
And hey! Upgrade! One generation newer, and a 20 Gig Hard drive.
If I run across an old school one sans hard drive, I'll probably pick it up and use this drive in it. Maybe give it to my sister or my dad or someone. Or possibly keep it as a spare.

In other news, I found some guitar chords for "Beep Beep". I can build an arrangement for the piano off of that.
For those of you who are trying to figure out what song I'm talking about, It's the one where the guy is out driving in his Caddy and some other guy is driving in his Little Nash Rambler. There is beeping and speeding involved. And teaching the guy in the Rambler that a Cadillac is not a car to scorn.
It's funny.
