12.2 pounds lost in the month of January. Yay! I don't expect to be able to keep up that rate ongoing, but we'll see. (Especially if this gym thing works out.)
As or more important, I'm a little flabbergasted at how much better I'm eating. I'd venture to say I've probably consumed more vegetables this month than in all of 2008. Pretty close anyway. And I've been cooking again, and trying out new things, and it's just pretty much rocking.
I'm finding sticking to it a lot easier than last time around as well. It's not that I don't have tough days, because of course I do, but for the most part I'm not having massive cravings or hunger pangs or anything. Of course, I'm drinking less than I was this time around so there's a little more play in the menu ;-). But it's not like I've been strictly depriving myself - I had poutine for god sake. Only the once, and that wasn't a particularly good week, but still.
It's early days yet - I'm sure the struggle will get harder in a lot of ways as time goes on. But after a month, I'm still feeling committed and am largely enjoying the whole process, so I'ma count this as a win.
