I find Jem holds the same appeal to me. Yes it was meldodramatic, but there were some plot aspects that were rather adult for a kids show. ^_^ I'm not sure if Jem would do as well if they ever decided to reboot it, it might be better to stay in the 80s. I don't think you could defend the fashion disaster of that show as much today. XD

The original head writer for Jem says she wants to do a reboot. But the rights for Jem are in limbo and that makes it too much of a legal headache for any network to take on.

Personally, I'd also prefer for Jem to stay in the 80s. If they remade it, I bet it would end up being a Hannah Montana clone with child/teen protagonists instead of adults and obnoxious, untalented kiddie pop stars doing the voices instead of professional singers/voice actors.
