Post-Holiday Chronicles: The Anniversary

Jan 01, 2006 21:36

Because you have put up with me for seven years...
Because you give me separate gifts on Christmas, my birthday and our anniversary even if they are just one day apart
Because everything I do is made special when you are with me...
Because we have proven that love may not be perfect, but it can really work...
Because you love me and I love you and that is all that matters all these years...
Happy seventh baby. :)

1. Have plans and more contingency plans.
We were supposed to go to a resort and spa in Nasugbu because Geo's family has a membership there. But when he called, the place was fully booked for the holidays. So we looked for other places and Tagaytay seemed to be the next viable place even though we have spent an anniversary there already. Nurture Spa was a lucrative idea but the couples package was a whopping 5,300 Pesos. But since we have no other choice, we kinda agreed on it. I was supposed to call the place BUT I got my period the next day and it is strictly prohibited to have a massage when you have your period because it will affect your blood circulation. (Can somebody please confirm this?) Definitely, a spa was out of the picture. I was throwing a tantrum the night before our anniversary (which I realize now was partly due to my period) because we didn't have any plans. I didn't answer his text messages and calls when he was trying to greet me.

2. Flowers would always make the day brighter and livelier.
When Geo picked me up at home, it was as if nothing happened the other night. (Go mood swings!) He surprised me with a lovely bouquet of flowers. :)

3. Pick a venue you have never been before. Make sure it has an enthralling ambiance.
I was telling Geo about this place as part of our back up plans and he took me there. Can you guess where this is? It's just in Metro Manila. ;)

The venue with its exquisite view, and Geo in his oversized white shirt.

I had seafood kebab for lunch. (It's a kebab once again.) I don't kow if the picture makes the food looks delicious or gross but it was really good. I smeared all the lemon butter sauce on the rice. Yumyumyum!

4. Pray that the heavens conspire with you. After lunch, we went to the mall (saying which will give away the secret venue ;p) and strolled a bit. We went to a Nike store again so he could see if they also had the jacket he wanted. And there it was, the last piece of it. Even though it was a size larger, he bought it already. Th simple rule of shopping: If you so love something, buy it.

I was craving for Cold Rock ice cream so we went to The Fort to buy one. (Oh yes I'm such a brat.) I had Ferrero with Violet Crumble toppings. On the way, we saw the sky painted with ROYGBIV! :p A rainbow!

5. Bring on more surprises. Everybody loves happy surprises!
Geo told me that he needed to pick up something for his mom. It would just take a while and then we could go to wherever we wanted to go. While we were there and walking around for a few minutes, his phone rang and he talked to some obscure person. I knew right then that we weren't picking up something for his mom. I was fishing for information and asking hims questions like, "Sa'n ba tayo pupunta? Ano ba yung kukunin mo? Bakit nalibot na natin yung buong lugar hindi mo pa kinukuha?" And then, we went inside a cafe. He talked to the crew and claimed a cake...for me! I knew it! :)

6. Enjoy each other's company.
We went to his house to rest. We were supposed to have dinner buffet at Esplanade where the World Pyro Olympics was being held. But we were so full and tired that we just stayed at his house, watch tv and eat dinner there. I had to go home early because my family were sleeping overnight in Cavite for another get together with our relatives the next day. Before going home, we passed by Starbucks to get coffee and add stickers to my card which I have neglected.

It was a simple day but I could not ask for more. :)

Lying here with you
Listening to the rain
Smiling just to see the smile upon your face
These are the moments I thank God that I'm alive
These are the moments I'll remember all my life
I found all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more
Looking in your eyes
Seeing all I need
Everything you are is everything to me
These are the moments I know heaven must exist
These are the moments I know all I need is this
I have all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more

I could not ask for more than this time together
I could not ask for more than this time with you
Every prayer has been answered
Every dream I have's come true
And right here in this moment is right where I'm meant to be
Here with you here with me
These are the moments I thank God that I'm alive
These are the moments I'll remember all my life
I've got all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more

I could not ask for more than the love you give me
'Coz it's all I've waited for
And I could not ask for more
I could not ask for more
