(anti)psychotic drugs

i'm tired of listening to all of these commercials on tv talking about how wonderfull mood altering prescripion drugs can be when used to improve my social life. for one thing there are already drugs for that, the fact that they aren't leagal is totally irrevelevant( more on that later). ok, so i can understand why a person might be willing to go talk to someone to get drugs to help them feel better about life in general, and considering that the options we have for president this election year i believe we all could use a pick me up of one kind or another. but when a doctor is telling you that you need to be on something for what could potentially be add( fyi, this is commonly comfused with dislexia, simple lack of interest in what is being said or someone who truly doesn't care what their parents are telling them) and that you are going to need to take what is in essence the legal version of speed for the next 60 days to see if it will help you slow down and operate normally i think it might just be time to reevaluate the risk. to a person who truly has add a good stimulant can help a person to maintain focus on a specific task long enough to finish it. on the other hand, if it is given to someone by a misdiagnosis, it will have the same effects as it's illegal counterpart(crack). in the case of the later situation, the person would have the same symptoms of adhd, thus making the doctors natural assumption to be to increase the dosage. long story short, if you don't have the problem before taking the drug, it will create the problem in you for taking it. peace, for now.
