Today, Bridget had to do some studying, and Alex and I decided to go to the Duke Gardens. But first, we had to head over to the library so that Alex could show Bridget how to use it, and help her get some books she needed for said studying. While they did that, I pulled a book off the shelf for some light reading -- British Parliamentary Chronicles (or something to that effect), Health (MENTAL), 1859. It was interesting. I wish I'd gotten to read more than the first few pages.
Then, off to the gardens! It was a beautiful day, perfect temperature, and the gardens were lovely. We wandered around for a bit... walked around a large pond, in which Alex managed to catch a baby turtle (super cute), and observed ducks. It started getting a little cloudy, and the clouds were beautiful, so I took lots of pictures (lots of pictures). Finally our legs were getting tired (everyone's still incredibly sore from yesterday's laser skirmish), so we decided to get lunch and then go to Franklin Street -- a street with lots of cool shops. Like, comic book stores. Hehe. I wanted to go last time I was here, but didn't get to, because I got sick.
So, we went downstairs in one o' dem buildings to get lunch, hurried it down to make the bus in time, and ran back upstairs to discover... that it was pouring. Apparently, it had been hailing as well. But seriously, what a thunderstorm! The small (but rainbow!) umbrella that Alex had brought, really was not going to be up to the job. So we sat there chatting and watching the rain and lightning until it was pretty much over, then came back to the dorm room and watched anime for a couple hours. *thumbs up* I'm sad I didn't get to see Franklin Street, but it was a good afternoon all the same.
