Okay. I will attempt to do this in a chronological order.
Yesterday, we... um... Crap, my brain is dead right now. >> Something... er... Okay, Bridget to the rescue. We went and got breakfast (at about 2pm), hung out for a while, explored for a bit a fair that was goin' on on campus, I saw the inside of the Duke chapel, got dinner, and then went to the DUI Bigshow. DUI is Duke University Improv, and as one might guess from the name, is an improv comedy group. (I wonder what an improv tragedy group would be like...) Bigshow is their biggest show of the year, and also their last. They did skits, games where the audience gave suggestions, and also had some videos. It was really good. Some things better than others of course, and some people better than others. But overall, fantastic. Then, Alex and I took tons of jumping pictures! Well, technically Bridget took them. She was too much of a scaredy-cat to jump with us, so she did the picture-taking (the timing of which took a while to get a hold of...). Fun times!
Oh, and all day, the three of us were Pretty Pretty Princesses. Alex and Bridget both decided to wear dresses, and then I felt left out, so Alex had me try on a dress of hers, which was just a little big, and then Bridget pinned it, and it was perfect and awesome. I hate how careful you always have to be of sitting down, etc., when wearing a dress or skirt, though, when you have nothing but undies underneath... :-/ Grar.
Today, we woke up ridiculously early, but for a good reason. Laser skirmish! It's like laser tag, except outside, in the woods, and with big rifles... I'd never played even normal laser tag before, but it was fun. After I got into, at least. At first I just kinda wandered around, very carefully avoiding spiderwebs and ant lines, pretty much out of sight of everyone else, and vaguely bored. But the next two games were capture the flag sort of deals, and that was lots of fun, and I did get into it. We quit at 2pm, because the guy who provided all the stuff, and officiated, had to go. Also, it was hot and muggy, and we were all very thirsty and tired. Lots of running, suddenly crouching, hiding behind trees and in ravines... Yeah.
Then we came back to Duke, and hung out for a while. I introduced Alex and a couple other people to Persona, and they liked it. *thumbs up*
Now, a couple times while setting up, and then while watching, I felt something crawling on me. Lifting up my shirt, I would see a spider. Immediately, before I could get Alex to take it off and kill it, I would leap up, freaking out, and frantically trying to brush it off. Yeah... I don't like things crawling on me. Anyway, finally after one of these times, Alex suggested that I go to the bathroom, and check for it in my clothes, and shake them out. So I did, and found a tick in my hip. There was a BUG in my SKIN. Turns out that "spider" was actually a tick, and... yeah... *shudders* I ran back into the room with the peoples, practically screaming to Alex that I had a tick in my hip, and that she must get it out. She found someone else to do so, who was apparently the best and such tasks, and it was successfully, and easily, removed. *sigh of relief* She said it looked like it had just attached (it was still moving. Ugg...), so it would have been the one that had been crawling on me. As in, there probably weren't more. Thank gods.
Also, I developed a blister on the side of my toe.
Anyway, some videogames, food, more Persona, and back here to the dorm room for internets and nappish time, and then we will go to dinner... And after that? SHOWER, OMG.
I think it will be a while before I stop checking my body for more ticks.
Also, odd note: I heard "Us and Them" by Pink Floyd on the way there, and again on the way back, and now it's come on on my shuffle-ordered computer. Thank goodness it's such a good song.
