"HEY!!! You ruined my record man!"
Man, what a fun time! Last night, Rahni and I decided to check out a local spot that we could walk to from my former aunt's place, since I thought I was dog-sitting, the plan was she meet me there and once I had the pups closed up, we would head out for a bite and then check out a local band while enjoying some dancing. The spot served some fantastic Mediterranean food according to all the reviews. I managed to get a couple of good photos of Rahni which the damned camera filtered due to the low lighting to make it almost appear to be something done with CGI; of course she's absolutely gorgeous, so with her lovely youthful appearance, that doesn't help to make it look like an actual photo either. And while the music and atmosphere was remarkably good, the service and food was incredibly bad. The place was practically dead, to boot, so after a half a set of songs, the owner paid the band for the full evening and closed up early.

We ended up going back to the former aunt's place, and since the dogs were with former aunt instead of there, I was able to visit with her and dance a while longer to some of the tunes in one of my own playlists. She headed home since she had to work this morning, and I was up until around 2am as there was a party in progress by the upstairs neighbors. Gelila was there, and I found myself disappointed after a short while, when they brought out the drug smorgasbord and she began to partake, even offering me a bit of something from the tray. Fuck that! I have lost others to that shit and so I had a brief chat with her and left to go back downstairs. That's the last I will see of her, and speaking with Dami today, she was disappointed and also glad she hadn't ended up getting into a shared apartment with Gelila after all. She wasn't too surprised, though, as her friend had been through rehab. I noted that I'd seen the relapses before myself and while I hoped the girl would be able to get clean and stay that way, I couldn't watch another person I know spiral out of control.

She admitted that she uses concealer and a skin tightening make-up to clear away the lines, so she looks younger, but this woman is a genuine marvel to behold, IMHO.

I ended up showing the photo of Rahni to others, and there were comments on how beautiful she is. She disagreed, and said she was homely and a mongrel to boot. I'd heard the term used on a number of occasions, and was upset by it, as were others in our group discussion, particularly that she was saying that about herself, that she believed it. So, we talked with her, with one another, and then I dropped an "All the Feels" bomb on them, with a song, which had even the guys tearing up, after I said "Each of us has a unique view of ourselves that is colored by the perceptions of others who have had an influence in our lives. But we forget, we are unique, wondrously imperfect beings and it is our imperfections that make us amazing to the people that choose to really get to know us and look past the physical to see the absolutely beautiful or depravedly monstrous spirit within. Each of the Sunflowers has shown a depth of beauty that is beyond compare, so whenever you feel ugly or unworthy, remember that you make your Suns shine all the brighter because of the beauty that flows from your very roots and stem."

Aaron backed that up with a few words of his own, noting the beauty he sees in each of the girls, and saw in those who have passed. And while Dy made us all laugh, Tammi was the one who said, "See boys, this is why we ladies love to be draped and shining with the Silver and Gold Suns, they know how to make us shine all the more brightly because we don't just hear how we're admired for our looks, we feel cherished for how we interact with you and one another." Discussion continued for a while, and then it was decided we would go out for a while this evening - a big group of us - for a bit of dancing and fun. Little did we know how much fun it would be!

While we were at the local club that one of our Sunflowers owns, she had to fire her DJ for showing up absolutely wasted and then drinking on the job. So, we found out one of our own Suns was well versed and experienced in spinning songs for the crowd that wants to swing, soft-shoe or bust a move. Eric (or was that DJ Vibes) took the time to get a healthy mix of hits from various genres and eras, and - as is his norm - give everyone some laughs while he was at it. A few soundbites of Cheech and Chong, Leslie Neilson, and other comedians along with the clowns from the 80's WWF and badly done dramas of evening soap operas got people giggling and really finding themselves enjoying the night. And Ian (Eric's twin) was able to dance with Joy for a couple of tunes before a few others spun him out onto the floor to give my little sister a bit of a breather. Before the evening was done for all of us who had to work the next morning or were riding with those who did, we had spent an hour strutting our stuff, cutting a rug and swaying down the line with amiable partners that each showed that magical glow that makes each of them beautiful.

🎶There goes my heart beating
'Cause you are the reason
I'm losing my sleep
Please come back now🎶

And as I was dropped off at home, there were a couple of endearingly lovely ladies humming the tune I'd shared earlier, eyes shining so brightly you could count the stars in the heavens that were reflected there. I was fixed to the spot for a brief moment, my breath catching slightly in my throat as I listened to the heavenly sound and gazed upon them. Sunflowers that reflect and give back the light that we love to offer them so they will glow long after each sunset. I kissed them both on the cheek, giving a brief hug so I wouldn't be tempted to linger and wished them a good night, sweet dreams, and a safe trip home, my heart going with them as they pulled away with waves from the warm cab of the car. I already miss them both, all of them, and look forward to the next moments we can share.
