I have never before done a meme... in fact, I don't really know what "meme" means, but I have decided, that at least this once, I will take the dive and join in. So here we go, all about the letter "N" (If you want a letter in return, ask, and I'll gladly give)
I think that Maewyn may have given me this letter intentionally, because I think the

*whistles into the breeze* Now why would you think that?!
That was great!
It was interesting to see your first reaction to New York, and the difference in people's attitude. I'm sure it would affect me the same way. Perth is getting more bustling by the year, but people will usually still say "sorry" if they accidentally bump into you.
Those Nestle Toll House cookies sound delicious!
I'll agree with you about visiting New Zealand. I've always had the urge to travel there, and after LOTR, it would be amazing to visit those places that beckoned to us from the screen.
Needles - I don't LIKE them, but I tolerate them. I'm due to have my flu needle on Wednesday night - wish me luck!
(Don't read the next paragraph if you're too squeamish!)
The very worst needle I felt was put into the underside of my big toe. It was to inject a local anaesthetic so I could have a wedge cut from my toenail. I actually cried out, it was so sudden and painful! I still shudder when I think about it! (Sorry if I freaked you out!)
I've always had a fascination for the ancient civilizations. I used to devour books on archaeology when I was younger.
"Empty Nest Syndrome" Tell me about it! Both our sons left home in 2003 - one in February and the other in August. At first it felt like we had been abandoned. When you have children in your life for 20+ years, you're involved in so many facets of their lives. You hear all the news about their friends, what they're doing and where they're going. It's just your normal life. Then suddenly it's all gone. The house IS empty! It took us a while to get used to it. It's great when they do visit (as our elder son did early yesterday morning - he arrived armed with bacon, eggs, hash browns and orange juice for breakfast) it's wonderful!
I know what you mean about running out of things to say about a particular letter. I mulled words around for almost a week before I decided on what I was going to write about!

I probably could have thought about it longer with better results... but it was just such a good excuse to sit there for hours accomplishing nothing of what I actually NEEDED to do...
And don't worry, the toe shot story was just enough to freak me out from ever getting a toe shot, but not disturbing enough that it caused me any actual suffering. And I hope the flue shot treats you well!

I had my flu shot on Wednesday night. I hardly felt it going in. My arm wasn't sore afterwards either. However, by yesterday afternoon I started to get a headache, and felt very woolly-headed. I assume it was a side-effect. I feel OK this morning.
