Finally, a question I feel is sort-of worth some effort, even if my answer isn't going to be terribly exciting.
It depends where I am really, and what type of tea I want/have on hand, and how much time I have. When the world is my oyster (which is almost never, unless I'm in MI and time is a little more flexible... and Lizzie is around), I like the good old-fashioned method of boiling some water and steeping loose leaves.
But here in the real world I usually go for a tea bag in water - sometimes heated on the stove, sometimes nuked... or if I'm at work it comes out of the coffee maker.
Though I just ordered some really high-quality tea for myself that begs not to be abused by being heated in barbaric fashion, so hopefully I will be able to treat my tea preparation with more of the respect and adoration it deserves ;)
BTW (*plug*), if anyone is looking for a good place to order tea, there's a site called TeaLaden (
www.tealaden.com) that has some fantastic handmade, imported teas you can buy either loose or in hand-packed bags, as well as a tone of UK import teas.
