On Gamble stepping down.

I am torn about this decision:

I think fandom is way to hard on Gamble (for sexist reasons, very often) and that she gets blamed for a lot of stuff that isn't her fault. Particularly by impossible to please Cas fans (I say this as a Cas fan myself). She's written some of my very favourite eps, including 7x17 most recently, and she's been around since the beginning and made huge contributions to the show. I liked having a woman in charge, and I will definitely watch whatever she's got in development.

On the other hand, she also wrote Heart, which is in the top three worst episodes of the show. And seasons six and seven have, quite frankly, sucked balls overall, so any change is good change at this point. And Carver was involved from S3-5, so it will hopefully help the show get back to its roots (without deleting Cas, pretty please).

But I think any bashing or huge celebration is pretty tasteless. Any ding-dong-the-witch-is-dead type behaviour will earn a disapproving LJ note from me.

supernatural is making me stupid, fandom
