If it helps? I really liked Safest Place to Hide - and I can't read wincest. No really, it squicks the hell out of me, but I wanted to read your fic so bad I read it anyway. And okay, ngl, it squicked the hell out of me - but that's my issue and had NOTHING to do with your writing, which was charming as always. I don't mean this to be a backwards compliment, just that you are good and if you weren't i'd never have read something wincesty. I adored the story, it was cute and adorable and I loved the angst, premise and execution.
As to Cas. I agree, 3 out of 6 seasons is HALF THE LIFETIME OF THE SHOW. To deny that, as it feels like they are doing, is insane and totally belittling to the fans who have devoted so much emotion to this character. It upsets me a lot. And it bugs the hell out of me that Misha doesn't know either, that they also haven't cared how it might affect him to not be playing something that has become a part of him too. It's disrespectful to Misha, the fans and the story. I can only hope they don't fuck it up the way I worry they're going to. Like you, I feel that even if I were to keep watching - the way I view the show would be irreversibly tainted and then yeah, there'd be no point in continuing to watch because i'd be mad as all hell at it. I'm trying to reserve judgement, but at the same time, the idea of them killing him off, or fucking up his character, hurts too much to just ignore as a "wait and see"..

I think it frustrates me too that they're clearly leaving some of this up in the air specifically to mess with us. Like, the fake press release and stuff? And it's just not fun for me and I don't like being toyed with. Someone has some answers, and I just wish they'd be straightforward. I think we've earned that.
