Genevieve had decided she didn't want to do conventions anymore, because she would much rather be at home with Danneel than on stage pretending to be a completely devoted wife to Jared. She loved him, don't get her wrong, but they had to spend so much time together facing the world as 'husbands and wives', so the conventions became a break for all of them. With Gen not traveling with them, it meant that no one was forced to be in the rooms with their spouses to keep their front up. With Gen at home, she could have quality time with Danneel, and Jared could have quality time with Jensen. After all, without their wives there, they could get away with rooming together easily.
But for some reason, this con she had been unable to avoid. She had tuned out what her PR had explained to her, instead trying to figure out how to convince Danneel to join the show this time. It hadn't been as hard as she had suspected. Everyone wanted to stay together during this week because it was going to be the weekend from history, one way or another, and no one wanted to be separated. Prop 8 would either go through, or be overturned, and it made all four of them antsy that they would be on panel at the time of the decision.
The boys weren't too vocal about their thoughts on what would happen if it was overturned, and Danneel didn't want to jinx anything, so Gen had been left to play out fantasy after fantasy in her head. It had surprised everyone when one fan had stepped up to the mic, but instead of asking something, they turned on a small radio they had, and held it to the mic. The final results were going to be announced, and no one asked the fan to step away.
In precisely twelve minutes, the room exploded into cheers and yells. It was deafening, but Gen looked at Danneel, and her heart swelled with happiness at her beaming smile. There was an air of slight unease on the stage, because of the four individuals, all lying about their lives, and all more than excited to hear the results.
The fans could--and were--rejoicing. Gen thought it was unfair that they weren't allowed--PR had said that too much discussion on the rights would out them unintentionally. Then again, what did it matter now?
"It doesn't..." she laughs softly, as if convincing herself. She broke into a grin, looking again at Danneel. "It doesn't!" She repeats with certainty, still drowned out by cheers and yells. She grabbed Danneel's wrist, hauling her into her lap and cupping her face in a heated kiss. She was sure her heart would pound out of her chest, but the excitement running through her couldn't deny her the kiss to her amazing partner on the most important moment of their lives so far.
Screams and yells died down a bit, but for once it seemed the fans were more excited about the news in general and forgot the stage temporarily. Another brief kiss shared, and Gen turned to Jared, amused that the boys seemed frozen with indecision as to what to do, and raised her mic to her mouth for the first time in twenty minutes. "Jared Padalecki, will you do me the honor of divorcing me?"
