This is AWESOME
Guys, I would like to introduce you to The College Humor Show, a new series on MTV starting February 8, based off the site http://www.collegehumor.com/. I saw the promos for it while watching back episodes of Psych* on hulu.com.
You might be wondering why I'm doing free advertising. It's because my high school may soon have a new "most famous graduate" to supplant the Verizon Wireless guy: Jake, of the website and this new show (the founders are famously "Jake and Amir"), went to my high school. I know him. His little sisters (triplets) are a month younger than me, and I used to swim with them. Especially Rachel, the only one who continued to swim through high school (the other two ran instead). Our parents are good friends; their mother, who reads essays for Yale, read over my college application to see how it was. We belonged to the same pool club all through my childhood. They live a five-minute walk from my house.
I was always shy around Jake - he was enough older than me (and cute enough) that I was never quite comfortable - so I don't know him that well anymore. But still. Awesome. I keep laughing out of pure hilarious glee.
*During which, by the way, I decided that the fictional character I'm truly most like is Juliet. Smart but silly, capable but not the best, talent but little experience, wants to do well at work but also likes to have fun. Besides which, we just seem to have the same mentality and worldview.
