I was going to say "Fandom is breaking my brain", but really, it's just fanficrants

The girl I work with on Thursdays is named Rickie (just Rickie, not short for anything). Today we were talking about people being mistaken for boys (her friend, as a little girl; my sister, too), and she mentioned that people always think she's going to be a boy because of her name (though I don't know why they expect a college-age boy to spell ( Read more... )

I feel like I speak an utterly different language

Hee! I was just talking to someone online the other day about me accidentally slipping things like "DO NOT WANT" into conversation. :P

"Why are you on birth control if you're a boy?"

HEE!

Oh man. That would...can you imagine being the person told to make that call? :P

Hahaha. I love when I speak Lolcat to my mom. She sits there and goes, "...what happened to your grammar?" And I'm just like, crap. Didn't mean to do that. :P (Though one of my sister's best friends is also a lolcat fan, and we have fun with that. "I can has jacket?" "No you cant has!" It confuses the hell out of my sister!)

Oh, God, that must've been an awkward phone call. :D

You know, the out-loud answer was pretty funny and snarky too. Love it. I have a roommate named Bobbie. I wonder if she gets the same shit sometimes.

As for mpreg? I don't like to think about it :S I'm fluent in these languages:
1. English
2. Fandom
3. Macro
And know a bit of these:
1. Spanish
2. French
3. German
4. Japanese
...but I'm only fluent in those first three.

Hee, thanks. :D

Bobbie's at least more common as a girl's name. But still. :P

Hahaha, same here. Well, I'm borderline fluent in macro, and still occasionally meet terms I don't know in fandom (so, like, fluent but not native speaker), and am hoping to become fluent in French (I'm studying in Paris next semester! Yay!), but yeah. Same idea. :D
