I'm writing a paper about judgment of the dead in Egyptian and Greek mythologies for my class on death (due by midnight tonight, so of course I'm procrastinating). "Psychopomp" has always been one of my favorite misleading words. Doesn't it just sound like someone who kills people in a pompous manner? "Do not struggle, my good fellow, for even your grandest efforts cannot overcome the lord Death." But no, it's just a figure who leads souls into the underworld.
Ok, that's pretty cool, too.
I haven't been writing any fic lately (brain, the Writers' Strike didn't mean you), haven't even had any inspiration, and that makes me sad. So I'm doing that prompt-thing that everyone does once in a while but I never have because commitment makes my head spin and then I have to sit down and breathe heavily. So: give me a fandom (preferably one I've written for, though one I've talked about would probably do just as well) and a prompt (and by "prompt" I mean "quote, song lyric/poem line, object, or word"), and I'll try to write something between 100 and 500 words for you. But I don't promise anything, partly because lately I've been all blank on creativity and partly because I'm hoping something will make me go "OOH that needs to be a proper fic." And ok, so even my proper fics aren't much more than 500 words, but hey. So, prompt away!
