Oscar Nominations Thoughts!
LOL, well at least the race is not boring anymore. I'm overall pretty happy with all the nominations; nothing I really dislike got nominated and there were some really AMAZING surprises (Javier! Dogtooth! Exit through the Gift Shop!). Suck about Nolan though. Oh well, I guess he'll just have to make a Holocaust movie or ( Read more... )

I really don't understand what "hurdles" Nolan has to overcome. What did he DO that was so offensive? =S.

TKS could win over TSN? =O. That's shocking considering how TSN was compared to Citizen Kane and all =P.

The only two categories I really care about are the two leading acting categories. Any other category can have a surprise turnout but it's about time Firth gets his Oscar for being a brilliant actor and (I'm sure) a breathtaking performance in TKS (I'm going to watch it the DAY it comes out in Israel) and Natalie Portman who was just phenomenal... she doesn't deserve not winning for such a brilliant performance for Annette's mediocre one because Annette's been in the industry long enough and deserves "Academy Award Winner" under her name (and I've seen "The Kids Are All Right" and even though it was a very cute film, it really wasn't Julianne's or Annette's best performances).

lol... ahh... I thought it was something offensive he had done =P

Well, “Citizen Kane” received recognition for being the greatest film ever made only afterwards. Nowadays people already consider it a masterpiece and THAT is when the comparison was made to TSN.

Citizen Kane was the most critically acclaimed film of the year. It won the NYFCC award, which was basically THE critics award back then.
