Ended up meeting up with Muromachi-kun Friday afternoon. He had given me the address to a capoeira dojo back before Christmas as a gift, but because I'd spent my winter vacation time in Brazil and then got caught up in work and school afterwards, I didn't have the spare time to really visit the place. But now that things have slowed down again at both work and school, I was finally able to take the time to check things out. Akaya and Bunta ended up coming with us also. I guess I've talked enough about it that they were curious to see what the big deal was all about. ^^; Though they weren't alone apparently. Oshitari came with Muromachi when he met up with us. The place turned out to be even better than I thought. It's small, but it had a very comfortable street feel to it that reminded me of my time in São Paulo. It seems the head sensei, Mestre Arriscada, just moved here from Brazil not too long ago and decided to set up shop when none of the other capoeira dojos ended up fitting his principles. Large dojos all too often forget their roots and forget that part of capoeira is all about personal expression. You try to drill set ideals into someone's head and put restraints on their movements, you lose the fun that comes with the battle. And the Mestre knew this, so he started his own place where these kinds of things can be remembered. It's still off to a slow start, and besides us, he's only got a few other students, but perhaps once word gets out about the things this little dojo and its students are capable of, maybe others will also start coming in. Whatever the case, it'll be fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can learn by being there. And who knows? Maybe our dojo could end up winning in a tournament someday. ^^
Though that's not the only thing that's been going on lately. My house has been pretty busy with cleaning out extra space and trying to get things set up and ready for additional people to be in the house. Because this coming weekend, Noé will be coming here from Brazil to stay with us and go to school here. Okaa-san and Auntia Benedita ended up agreeing that it'd be the best thing for him to come and live here. Since he'd been having troubles with the kids at his school, we all think a fresh start over here will help him out and build him some confidence. It might take him a while to get used to things, since it's a completely different country and he still doesn't understand a whole lot of Japanese yet (mostly just what me, Akaya, and Bunta taught him), but I'm sure he'll end up feeling right at home here soon enough. ^^
And when he does get here, he's also going to be bringing a litter of someones with him. Namely, Goku's puppies. Aunt Kimiko's dog, Empress Diamond, had them a few weeks ago. But the cold-hearted bitch Aunt Kimiko doesn't want anything to do with the puppies, since they're a bunch of worthless mix breeds in her eyes. So she has wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible. The fact that they're still so young and not anywhere close to being weened yet doesn't matter to her. I hate her for treating the puppies this way, but I suppose the sooner they're with us and away from her, the better. Even if that means separating them from their mother. :\ But we'll take good care of them once they get here! They're Goku's pups after all! We'll make sure they grow up to be dogs that are as good as their father is. ^^
And speaking of Goku, he'll be coming to live with us before long also. Because I asked Akaya to move in with us. There's...no reason for him to stay at that house anymore. It's obvious that his parents if you can even call them that, since they don't pay enough attention to do any parenting don't give a damn about him. So there's no point in staying somewhere where he's not wanted. We only have to wait a little while longer until the last days of this school year are over, and then he doesn't ever have to be in that house again. And I don't think I'll be the only one in my family breathing a sigh of relief when that does happen. Okaa-san has been worrying for a long time over all of this. I know she's going to be just as happy having him here and safe with us. ^^
[OOC: The Kuwahara residence is going to be very busy soon with all these people and pets coming to live there. And Mama-san is practically beside herself with giddiness because of it. A house full of kids and animals is pretty much her idea of heaven. ^^; She's still considering refusing to let Bunta leave the house next time he visits, just so she'll have everything perfectly as she wants it. >>; And folks may recognize the song he's currently listening to as the Mazda "Zoom Zoom Zoom" song.......Believe it or not, it's actually a capoeira song. >>; I've uploaded the song with lyrics for those that are curious:
